The next round!

We opened the kiln this morning, coffee in hand and it always feels like Christmas morning, especially when there are glaze tests inside!!! Just a few shots of some of the new stuff….there’s still so much work to be done before I feel like I have anything like a cohesive body of work! It’s the absolute edge of the creative process right here, right now for me….redefining myself as a potter! New forms (still somewhat familiar) cos I have a sense of my history in the forms I’m still creating, but new glazes, new texture, new decoration application….exciting and frustrating simultaneously it seems!
There are numerous potential colour combinations awaiting us….It will take another week to get enough pots made to get another kiln on to do the next round of testing…..I’m loving it and I’m finding it hard to be patient!!!

So many directions these different glazes could go, and I have to trust in this process, that I will eventually find a comfortable and exciting (they can exist side by side!) combination of glazes…..stay tuned!
