Where did it go…..

summer i mean!!!! this weekend is the start of November, how can this be true! I know i’m not the only one shaking their head at how fast the past few months have gone….and things have been so busy! There is no way I’m going to attempt to fill in the past few months…..that would really send everyone to sleep, but suffice to say that the first summer of Big Hill Pottery has been very successful. I’m so happy with the response I’ve received, I’ve met so many great folks both here at the studio and at the weekly Farmer’s Markets in Baddeck. What a great bunch of vendors and most of the summer i put up my table outside, over looking the harbor and next to the awesome Cora-Lee and George from the Dancing River Sprite – great sausages each week!

The most recent event was a lovely visit from one of my adorable daughters! Morgan came for 3 weeks….. and helped out so much; in the garden; in the studio, and at the farmer’s market. We also had a wonderful trip up to Ingonish….here she is…….

now she’s heading west to Vancouver to be a snowboard instructor. Her twin sister, Bronwyn, is completing her studies at university in Ontario!

Now it is time to get things back on track in the studio! We will be taking part in the wonderful “Loft Show” put on by the Cape Breton Craft and Design Center in Sydney. The show dates are:

November 25th: 5 – 9 pm: Gala Fund raiser for the Center.
November 26th: 2 – 9 pm
November 27th: 10am – 6pm

The Thursday evening Gala fund raiser will be wonderful, tickets are $30 and there will be live music, a complimentary martini and wonderful treats to tempt your palate. If you want more information please go to http://www.capebretoncraft.com for more information.

I am planning to have a great selection of items to make your Christmas shopping fun! Along with the usual array of mugs, cups, bowls, teapots, chip and dip sets, some new pieces will also be available! The new latte cup (with a handle) has been very successful, works great as a soup bowl/cup also, toothbrush holders, soap dish, spoon rests, wall tiles, double condiment bowls, and much more!

As of the beginning of November our showroom will be open by appointment only. But please feel free to call anytime, 295 2726, and see if we are around.

Looking forward to seeing some of you at the Loft show and around Cape Breton Island!

well well well……now there’s a surprise!!! Hey Dana….how are you and how wonderful to hear (albeit very briefly ) from you! It’s kinda weird cos literally about a week ago, when morgan was visiting me, we were looking at old photographs, and i came upon a few of Max, when he was about 2 or 3 years old!!! and at the moment i wondered how you were doing ….. and here you are, emailing me!!! Too strange for words – i won’t go into huge details here, but suffice to say, life is great! what are you up to, where are you….and Max, how is he doing. It would be great to keep in touch and find out what’s going on with you!
