Now for something …

Completely Different!

I’ve been exploring oil painting for the past few months….finding it intriguing, frustrating, irritating, but mostly just a wonderful experience. So, i thought I’d do a small post to document where it began and what changes i’ve made since starting it yesterday.

Beginning here…..

Next stage….after dinner …..

Then this morning…..

I’m still not satisfied, but I’m learning that going away for a while, giving it a rest, gives me a perspective …..then on my return i might see what i need to change. Working with oil has the great advantage of allowing you to scrape away what you don’t like and paint over it….but it’s a slippery slope going from good colour to mud!!!

More later!

It’s good to see potter’s finding an artistic outlet in other media. My strength has always been painting, it’s pottery I struggle with! However, painting is so time consuming. Good effort, I look forward to seeing more of your work.
